Everything gets started with a dream and some of us dare to chase it down.

Paint Horses really stood out to me. Not only were they eye catching with their interesting and flashy color combinations but so versatile. The first horses purchased by Dream Chaser Ranch were two registered paint geldings that were the epitome of versatility. Two tall good looking sorrel overo geldings that could take you down the trail, around the barrels, chasing cattle and then make you laugh with their antics at home. As everybody horsey knows, horse ownership is much like an addiction.  Two horses soon became three, and then four and on and on. Horse shows, clinics, lessons, barrel races, trail-rides, etc. have become a permanent part of my life.

As my adventure into the horse world progressed I noticed there was a lack of Paint horses with good working bloodlines in Manitoba. Sure, there were lots of nice Paints with great Western Pleasure or Halter lines but my attention had been sparked by events like barrel racing, reining, and all the cattle events. Smokes Remedy aka "Ace" was bought in 2004 after careful deliberation and research as to what stallion would be best suited to stand at Dream Chaser Ranch.

Ace came all the way from Blue Mound, Kansas and represents the very best in working bloodlines with color. He is a bay tovero son of Supreme Reined Cowhorse and APHA World Champion Working Cowhorse Smokes Dude. He was 2 years old when he arrived in Anola and has spent the last 4 years being trained and shown in cowhorse, reining and speed events. I have been extremely pleased with the results of that training as he has done very well in competition. He has matured into a wonderful stallion with great conformation and a fantastic temperament.  His calm nature in the show pen has most people mistaking him for a gelding.

It was important to me to also have strong maternal lines at Dream Chaser Ranch and have purchased some extremely well bred mares with which to cross him to. They are daughters of World Champions and have some of the best reining, cutting and racing bloodlines in the Paint Industry today.

Dream Chaser Ranch is striving to produce quality Paint horses with top working and racing bloodlines that can go on to excel in reining, cowhorse, roping and barrel racing events.

Speaking of addictions, horse buying isn't my only one. :-) I tried barrel racing for the first time about 5 years ago and was instantly hooked by the adrenaline rush. Every horse that comes on to the ranch becomes a potential barrel horse and in the summer you can find me and one or more of my Paint horses at various barrel races throughout the
province.

I hope you enjoy the website and please give me a call or send me an email if you would like to meet "Ace" or are interested in purchasing a horse from Dream Chaser Ranch.
